MYTHS

It's a myth to think that we will always be happy.

It's a myth that problems will cure themselves

It's a myth that going on a trip or ‘getting out of it’ will solve difficulties

It's a myth that the boss will discover that you are smarter than they are

It's a myth your partner will become your parent and look after you

Realistically, we are happy some of the time. We have different feelings some of the time and the rest of the time we are just calm or peaceful.

When the balance is out, and we think that we've been unhappy for too long - this is the time to see a counsellor.

Often we delay seeing a dentist or postpone a minor repair for our car and what could have been solved easily becomes a major problem.

So too with counselling.

Often when we have a problem that is too hard to deal with we hope it will just go away.

After all there are other ways to ignore problems. We can go away, watch TV, drink alcohol; use distractions such as arguments, gambling, and drugs; we can work longer hours than necessary.

The trouble is that the initial problem will seemingly disappear under the techniques we use, yet will show up again in some form, later, and in other areas of our lives.

In other words, we can't get away with it. Contact us, now!
